Forty-two cars are set to contest the final round of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Cyprus this week.
The FxPro Cyprus Rally, which also counts as the penultimate round of the Middle East Rally Championship, is based in Limassol from November 4-6 and uses mixed-surface stages.
Although none of the IRC’s current top six are attending the event, Rally of Scotland podium finisher Andreas Mikkelsen (Ford Fiesta S2000), French championship leader Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot 207), and former Production world champion Nasser Al-Attiyah (Fiesta S2000) will all be in action.
Martin Prokop, who won the Junior world championship section of the Cyprus Rally in 2009, will be competing in his Fiesta S2000 and will be partnered in the Czech Ford National Team by Jaromir Tarabus.
Other Super 2000 drivers in action include Burcu Cetinkaya, Daniel Oliveira, Franz Wittmann, Lebanese ace Roger Feghali and Cypriot Nicos Thomas, winner of the Cyprus Rally in 2008.
Misfer Almari, the current Middle East championship leader, is the leading conventional Group N entrant in his Subaru Impreza.
Czech Roman Kresta, who finished sixth in Cyprus back in 2005, will drive a Mitsubishi Lancer and is set to rival Almari for class honours.
